Thousands of young people are trafficked from Southeast Europe every year

“The team of House Of Opportunity were the reason I did not give up. They gave me hope.”

Maria* had every reason to be fearful of the future. With no family to turn to and her 18th birthday looming, Maria was faced with the prospect of leaving the institution in Bulgaria where she grew up and having to find her own way in the world.

Throughout Southeast Europe, thousands of vulnerable young people just like Maria fall prey to human traffickers, who exploit them through forced prostitution or labour, or fall into extreme poverty, doing whatever it takes to survive.

FSCI’s House of Opportunity gave Maria the chance and the support that she needed to make positive choices. Maria is now married, has a young son and is a qualified kindergarten teacher.

The House of Opportunity has given hope to  hundreds of young people over the last decade but we desperately need your help in order to continue the work. There is a real prospect that we might need to start closing Houses soon – leaving vulnerable young people at the mercy of traffickers.

Please make a donation today and help us to raise £100,000 to protect more young people like Maria.
