Christmas Box Ambassador

Christmas Box Ambassadors play a key role in helping us to spread a bit of joy at Christmas and opening doors for our work with disadvantaged young people in Southeast Europe. They will promote the appeal in their local schools, churches, businesses or communities – encouraging participation in the appeal. We will provide all the necessary materials and support. Would you consider helping us this year?

I’m interested how do I get started?

Step 1 – Get in touch
Use the contact details below to tell us a bit about yourself and the area or organisation that you’d like to promote the appeal in. We will then contact you and help you with the next steps.

Step 2 – Promote
Use the materials we supply to promote the Christmas box appeal in your area or organisation.

You can promote the appeal at work, in your church, community group or local school.

You may well have some promotional ideas of your own and we would love to hear them. We can provide leaflets, posters, videos and PowerPoint presentations to help you if desired. You can find posters and download leaflets on the pages linked above. We also have a short video available that will explain all about the appeal; so if you want a link to it, please ask.

The most important thing to remember is that this is fun: there are no targets to meet, so whatever you do will be fine!

Step 3 – Collect the boxes to a central point of your choosing
This may be as simple as collecting the boxes into your place of work or meeting. If you are promoting the appeal in your community you will need to think about where your donors will be able to bring their boxes ready for collection.

Step 4 – Deliver the boxes
If you are able to deliver the boxes yourself then we can take them in Nov. Get in touch for details of where and when to deliver.

We are happy to discuss collecting boxes from you if you have more than 50, but this means we will have to arrange a pick-up date somewhen in Nov.

Let us know if you’d like to get actively involved in promoting this year’s Christmas Box Appeal; we would love to hear from you.

Sorting & packing supervisor

With responsibility for overseeing sorting & packing sessions – looking after up to 50 volunteers at a time. Will suit somebody who has sorted and packed Christmas boxes before. The supervisor’s job is crucial in making sure that every box is checked and sorted correctly by our volunteer teams. Sorting & packing will take place in Nov, details can be found here. If you can give three hours for a daytime or evening packing session or more, then do please get in touch. Training will be provided.

Sort & pack the Christmas boxes in Salisbury during November

We rely on our fabulous donors and volunteers to make this project a success. Would you like to volunteer at our sorting warehouse in November? You can come by yourself, with your family, friends or as a group from work or church – please get in touch if you’d like to book a group in.

Information about this year’s Christmas box depot, including location and opening times, can be found here.

Deliver talks to schools and churches in Wilts/Hants/Dorset

If you are a confident communicator and you’d like to be part of a team delivering short (approx 10 mins) talks to promote the appeal on our home patch, please get in touch. Resources and training will be provided.

Collecting Christmas boxes

If you have a van, small truck or very large car and you’d like to help us collect Christmas boxes, and you have some free days during November, drop us a line. We will pay your fuel.

We’d also love some help setting up and and packing down the Christmas box depot.

Help us with the admin

If you are dab hand on a PC then we love to have your help at our Salisbury office in preparing for the appeal and processing the donations and paperwork that comes with it.

To help us sort & pack, deliver talks, collect Christmas boxes or do the admin, please get in touch with Rich on 01722 580192 or at volunteering@houseofopportunity.org
